Regan Hansen, MD

Robotic Surgery Specialist Including Hip, Knee, and Shoulder

Dr. Regan Hansen joined Lewiston Orthopedics in 1999 after completing his medical training at the University of Utah School of Medicine and residency training at the prestigious Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee.

A native of Utah, Dr. Hansen received his undergraduate education at Brigham Young University where he was active in football, receiving All-Western Athletic Conference honors. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, graduating in 1994.

Dr. Hansen specializes in robotic total joint reconstruction of the shoulders, hips, and knees. He performs the superior, posterior, and anterior total hip arthroplasty, which does not cut any muscle. He also offers minimally invasive total knee replacement, which requires a midvastus approach and no incision into the quadriceps tendon, which allows for earlier recovery of the knee. For this surgery, he also employs Mako SmartRobotics™, technology using CT imaging to create a patient-specific surgical map for the knee. Dr. Hansen’s expertise in total joint reconstruction allows him to perform numerous joint replacement surgeries annually, making him one of the highest volume surgeons for joint reconstruction.

Dr. Hansen also enjoys treating sports-related injuries. He frequently performs arthroscopic knee surgery, arthroscopic shoulder rotator cuff repair, and open repairs for reverse total shoulder replacement.

Dr. Hansen is currently licensed in Idaho and Washington. He is available to see patients in Lewiston.
