J. Adam Jelinek, MD
About
A native of Clarkston, Dr. Adam Jelinek attended Carroll College in Helena, Montana, prior to receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Following his residency, Dr. Jelinek completed a fellowship in sports medicine with Methodist Sports Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. During his fellowship, he provided team coverage for local high schools, Indiana State University, and the Indianapolis Colts professional football team.
Dr. Jelinek joined Lewiston Orthopedics in 2008. He is happy to be back in the valley and is currently involved in team coverage with Lewis-Clark State College and Lewiston High School. He appreciates all aspects of orthopedic surgery but has a particular interest in sports medicine, including advanced arthroscopic techniques in the shoulder, knee, hip, and ankle. He performs all-inside anterior cruciate and posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, arthroscopic rotator cuff and labral repairs, and advanced hip arthroscopy. Dr. Jelinek also specializes in cartilage restoration, cartilage transplants, meniscal transplants, fracture management, and joint reconstruction, including partial knee replacement, total knee replacement, hip replacement, and shoulder replacement.
Outside of work, Dr. Jelinek enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, who remain active in multiple sports and school activities. He has completed 13 marathons and multiple Ironman Triathlons and was recently awarded the Ironman All World Athlete classification. In his spare time, Dr. Jelinek enjoys golf, fishing, bird hunting, and volunteering his time to the community.
Dr. Jelinek is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and International Cartilage Repair Society. He is currently licensed in Idaho and Washington and is board-certified in orthopedics and sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is available to see patients in Lewiston.
