Gregory Max Gosey, MD, MAS

Fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon Dr. Gregory Max Gosey joined Catalyst Medical Group’s Lewiston Orthopedics location in 2024. Providing high-quality care for foot and ankle injuries and conditions, Dr. Gosey emphasizes honest and thorough discussions with patients about treatment options that best meet their unique, personal, and functional goals. Understanding that no two patients are the same, he provides personalized care plans to address each patient's injury or condition.

Dr. Gosey attended the University of Colorado Boulder for his Bachelor of Arts degree and continued to the LSU Health Sciences Center School of Medicine to complete his Doctor of Medicine degree. After medical school, Dr. Gosey stayed in New Orleans for his surgical internship at Ochsner Health. He then attended the University of California San Diego for a master's degree in clinical research and completed a two-year research fellowship. Dr. Gosey completed his orthopedic surgery residency at The University of Arizona and Banner Health in Tucson. Pursuing his interest in foot and ankle care, Dr. Gosey went on to complete a foot and ankle surgery fellowship at Brown University in East Providence, Rhode Island, and then an advanced surgical preceptorship in complex foot and ankle reconstruction at the University of Louisville in Kentucky.

With high-level training in foot and ankle care, Dr. Gosey treats a very broad array of conditions. His expertise includes treatment for fractures, sprains, and other traumatic injuries; arthritis; flatfoot and other complex deformities; ankle instability; tendon disorders; bunions and other toe deformities; and cartilage injuries. Whenever possible, Dr. Gosey utilizes nonoperative treatment options and saves surgery as a final course of action. If a surgical measure is essential in relieving pain and restoring function, he is well experienced with a wide array of foot and ankle surgeries, including fracture fixation, joint fusions and other reconstructive procedures, tendon repairs, ankle arthroscopy, and ankle replacement.

Dr. Gosey values getting to know his patients and takes pride in restoring them to their desired level of activity as quickly as possible. His goal is to educate his patients openly so they can work together to develop a treatment plan the patient feels comfortable with and best fits their particular goals and lifestyle.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Gosey enjoys boating and waterskiing, hiking, freeskiing, and spending time with his wife and two sons.
