Catalyst Medical Group is holding a free sports physical event for local student-athletes. The event will be held on May 22 from 5 to 7 p.m., and it is open to all student-athletes. Additionally, well-child checks will also be available from Catalyst Medical Group’s pediatricians, adding the benefit of doing your child's well-check at the same time. Sports physicals and well-child checks will be provided at no cost to walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis; appointments are not available. The event will be held at the group’s Lewiston Orthopedics office at 320 Warner Drive.
Sports physicals allow the opportunity to evaluate previous injuries, get a baseline for concussions and help decrease the chance of future injuries. The providers at Lewiston Orthopedics are specifically trained to detect conditions that may increase the chances of an injury, illness or life-threatening event.
Requirements and details for the sports physical event:
- Participants must bring their sports physical form to the sports physical event on May 22.
- A parent or guardian must be present with the student.
- Participants must wear shorts and a T-shirt.
- If a participant wears glasses or contacts, they are required to wear them to the sports physical.
